Grant,
Thought I would send a message. Saw the website looks like fun facing your fears. I should do the same. So yeah, I was showing off drawings of the tree of life in Mc Donalds at 4 am. Remember? Anyways. Symbolism rocks. I like your tattoos.
I am in Christchurch. My travels will take me to Thailand and India. Facing my fears of India for sure. WHat a country!
Take it easy

WOW four months on and there are still messages here and about 50 people a day visiting the site. I feel like i've had an awesome break and ready to hit 2009 with a bang. Hey Arna thanks for the message, most actors get themselves an agent and most agents are in Auckland. Just have a look at yellow pages online for talent agents, and...never give up, never let anyone tell you you can't make it and tell everyone what you want to achieve!
g4ant, The 30 Fears Camp

Hey Grant, as a parent I really enjoyed your careers talk at GBHS this week. I have had to read Reject me I love it" to get over my continual mind dialogue on "what people might think" It is so important to set our kids free to be their best and to be unhindered by the limits their teachers/peers/parents put on them. Good on you and I look forward to exploring your website further with my daughter Ellie.Scareiest thing I did - scuba diving with sharks - but you are soo right, I was probably more scared speaking in public!
Keep up the inspirational work - and check out a guy called Nick Vujic in NSW for someone who never ever gives up - we love him.
Cheers Billy

WOW - 1st msg I posted was based on your blog re the event - NOW, having seen video, we all so NEED to do this! Thanks so much Grant again for the inspiration. I felt your "pain" watching the video, but also "want" to feel it too as we too often recognise the support of our parents / loved ones after they are gone ... Left it too late with my Mum - & at that point realised I couldn't leave it with my Dad. Speak to him regularly - and have thanked him for his support - but don't say "I love you" ever - going to change that this weekend! Moving video, Grant - you are so amazing! Look forward to meeting you one day.

Well done mate. When you talked about doing this to me in Nelson in June I could see that you were serious and positive about the challenge but I still wasn't sure how you would go....then that skytower jump on Breakfast TV and it was all on. you have achieved a lot for yourself and for others. I wonder what will be next!
NickW, Christchurch

Grant Says:So the question has been raised, what next? Well I took Sunday off, I'm in Auckland now, the The Rock interview tomorrow morning as well as MoreFm Wellington. Life should never stand stiil and neither will I! Trust me projects are in the planning stages. 30 Fears in 30 Days took, believe it or not, 6 weeks from the idea in my head till 1st August... so just wait till Hayden, Fraser, and Duncan and I have a few more weeks to plan :-) Remember my life is not your life and as much as it's fun to watch the vids you will learn and grow so much more from setting your own goals and challenges and working towards them. Never ever be afraid to look silly, be a genius, I dare you!
Grant, The Thirty Fears Camp
For everyones information there is a Auction on Trade me for a place on Discovery you will find it under home/living/lifestyle/events tickets or click here.
let make this a great auction. thanks for your help
Pamela, Motueka
Well done mate!
Amanda ,
WOW I can hardly believe that this month is over. Altho when I look back over how much u achieved in this month it truely shows that there are no excuses for holding back and not working towards our goals! Thanku soo much for allowing us to come on this journey with you. You have challenged me to step outside my comfort zone (I don't think you realise how much) by modelling how it's done! You are a great ambassador for Discovery and it's fantastic that we have been able to raise money for such a worthy cause! I can't wait till October when I get to go on camp and experience it for myself (yes you are right it is definately going to be good for me). Altho this chapter may be over it is only the beginning of the next adventure and whatever that may be I know that you will make the most of it. I had the thought "what is the purpose of feeling fearful" and I have decided that it is our emotions communicating to us how much how important something is. The more fearful we are about it the more we must value it. e.g. if you are fearful about dying then it is because you value life soo much, or if you feel nervous in social situations it is because you value being with other people! I now have the attitude that when I feel fearful that is a great thing because it has given me insight on what is important to me and because it is important even more reason to feel the fear and do it anyway! You only regret what you don't do so am making my list starting right now! Enjoy your break you deserve it!!! Hugz Cinstar
Cindy, Nelson
You have done a fantastic job the chairleader

Anne, Wellington
After this i will never look at you as Grant at Discovery You have taken me on a journey that has change how I feel about Discovery and what it does for people to watch you emerge into this man who will give anything a go means so much to me that you allowed us to see who you really are fun, energising, honest, fearful, amazing, inspiring, daredevi, letting the youth of this country know that anything is possible if you go for it a 100%. Take a risk just do it that the only things that is between us and our goals ia our own fear. Conquer that and anything is possible.
Thanks again Grant your kids are lucky to have such an amazing dad they will never forget that their dad can do anything he puts his mind to
Love

Also - to everyone out there - Send your teens on Discovery! It helped me be the best I can be, and it can change your teens life, outlook, and give them the confidence to achieve whatever they set out to!
Julie, Wellington
You are so awesome Grant. I so love the Discovery aspect of your challenge, ie. what you are learning about yourself in the process! Inspirational is no longer a sufficient superlative for you! Hey you are almost there - & what a journey! Your children are going to be so amazing due to having you as a Dad - as are 1 or many teens, who will get to experience Discovery because of you! YOU ARE A LEGEND - & I need to meet you one day :-) And so thinking of you tomorrow! Cannot imagine anything worse & will be checking the website on an hourly basis - to know you are okay! Accept I am probably going to acquire a number of new grey hairs between now & then! But hey - that's the price - I may not be doing it, but am so with you. GO YOU AMAZING GUY GO!
Anne, Wellington
Hi Grant,
Best of luck for the rest going to Auckland in the morning back Saturday. I know you can do it may see you on Saturday.
Your are the greatest
Pamela,
Watching all the videos again - & just realised you enjoyed that one maybe too much :-) Hey, whatever, way to go Grant - you constantly amaze and inspire!
anne, Wellington
I laughed too - though it was very nervous laughter. How you managed to continue after being trodden on was such proof of your commitment to the cause. Loved the video of you back at school too - naughty boy leaving your cell phone on :-) All the very best with the last few fears Grant - and thanks to you, your crew and Duo Media for allowing us to share them with you. I'm having an awesome journey with you - YOU ROCK AND ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL! GO GRANT GO!
Anne, Wellington
Good on ya mate. I attended the program way back in 1995 and I had a ball. Big ups to all the volunteers who continue to serve the program, and any teenagers considering it, get on board!
Nathan Kidd, Melbourne
Laughed til I cried when the horse trod on you - sorry, didn't mean to.
Trish, Wellington
Grant, I am loving watching the video clips of all the 'fears' to date - you are one brave little cookie monster! I admit to NOT being able to watch the nipple piercing video, but the others are brilliant and some quite hillarious (esp the CURRY one)! I have just been told off in the Uni library for having the sound up too loud, so had better get back to assignment writing! Keep up the good work, keep on smiling and can't wait to see you on Breakfast on Monday (scary stuff - Paul Henry will be back)!!
Rachel Shirley (Cupit), Dunedin Uni Library

You are the bravest person in the world. You are never scared of anything. You never fall off anything that is very high. You never, ever, ever, ever fall off a tree when you are climbing one. You never die. But he's so brave. (direct quotes)
Declan, 4, Wellington
Amazing to see all the new messages (if you scroll down as well!)- you are so making a difference! Stepped outside my comfort zone 2day - on a far much smaller scale than you - but it was fascinating & a real insight to discover that if you do something out of your comfort zone, but out of choice, as opposed to feeling "forced" to do it (by other people, by circumstances, by inbred perceptions, or whatever) it is so much easier once you make the choice! You have so made those choices, felt the fear but done it anyway, and allowed us all to share it with you! I know I could not do even a minor % of what you are doing - but also I cannot express in words how inspired I am by you & how I admire you & how much I am loving sharing your journey - even if it is just reading the blogs, watching the videos and emailing you! LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING! GO GRANT GO - YOU ROCK! And Discovery - I know you are - and have every right to be - proud of such am Ambassador! Grant is doing a fantastic job! And put me down to staff on Discovery in April 2009! If you want me, I am there!
Anne, Wellington

Keep it coming, tell your friends and if you like what you see flick Discovery a few bucks!

Okay, Grant, time to support you & Discovery in more than just words. My biggest fear would also be being buried alive - but not quite ready to do that yet - so I'm going to "chunk it". My commitment will seem so menial compared to what you are doing, I won't go into it now - but rest assured you have so inspired me to go out of my comfort zone ..... And keep up the awesome work!

Fantastic - awesome - inspiring !!! Grant, there aren't enough superlatives to describe what you are doing! Couldn't make it to HUGS today - but was with you in spirit as I have been since I first heard about 30Fears. You totally embody the whole Discovery experience and are THE BEST DISCOVERY AMBASSADOR! Hey, Michael might have to start coming to NZ 4 times a year instead of 2 LOL. Be strong, keep up the excellent(x 100) work, enjoy the "great moments" and GO GRANT GO. YOU ARE A LEGEND!
Anne, Wellington
Keep up the great work! ;-)
Jackie, Christchurch
Hey mate, Thankyou for once again encouraging me to face my fears and do it anyway! We had an absolute blast in Nelson today giving away free hugz. The fear of public humilation and possible rejection be people was definately on my mind when we started this challenge. I was surprised at how well the people of nelson embarassed it tho (literally). We got hugz from hundreds of people a lot I would never have expected would have been up for it but they were. Also it was interesting to see how when one person said yes everyone else seemed to want to too! We even managed to stop traffic in the main street and were giving free hugz to people in the cars! It was fantastic to see how people went away smiling after having a free hug and we are all feeling so positive after a great day! Thanks to everyone who helped out today and made this possible, to the people of Nelson who helped us to raise $120 to go towards Discovery Foundation and gave great hugs, and to you Grant who continues to motivate and challenge us to step outside our comfort zone! Hugz!!!
Cindy & the 30fears support crew in Nelson, Nelson
Another awesome challenge completed! Well done Grant. Your spirit and motivation never cease to amaze. You are truly living Discovery and the best Ambassador they could have. Go Grant go - and enjoy the "great moments" along the way :-)

Hey grant buddy. Finally go to watch all your videos they are very entertaining and very inspiring. Just want you to know I was at home sick on Thursday flicked the tv on and got the chance to see your chest being waxed made me feel much better!! Keep up the great work. You rock!!
Haley Farmer, Auckland
Hi Grant.
My name is Arjun Gill my family owns the Little Indian Restaurants all around the country. I arrived in Nelson on Thursday night. I am here to give Mani a well deserved holiday. Mani showed me the video of you eating your HOT CURRY!
My friend you are mad! The amount of chili and our specially made Chili Chutney that went into your dish is enough to destroy a person. When our chefs make the Chili Chutney in the kitchen the fumes alone make your eyes water. I am absolutely amazed you managed to eat it.
We would like to put your video on our website and create a link to your website also. Hopefully this will create more exposure of the great work that you are doing.
Also because you are so brave or should I say crazy! Little India Bistro & Tandoor would like to contribute $1000 to Discovery for Teens.
Thank you Grant and keep up the good work!
Arjun Gill, Christchurch
