Blog: Chest Waxed on Good Morning

Firstly thank you to all the kids from Hampden Street School for all your cool comments, you guys rock and a I'll definitely come and visit your class soon!

Today started at 5am so it's been a massive day. As happens in all great adventures things have gone slightly astray, well for Hayden the camera guy anyway. He's gonna hate me but...he left his camera on the roof of the car which resulted in a broken camera and me having to hold the plane which was about to take off when he arrived at the last minute. We talk about Great Moments on Discovery when you make a "mistake" it's really just a great moment to learn. Lesson from today, don't leave cameras on the roof of a car then drive off. We have been been introducing some new language into the 30 Fears camp and whenever someone says something negative we say, "that's not the Discovery attitude"! i said this to Hayden, after 10 minutes he saw the funny side :-) Upside to all of that an old friend of his Jeff Simmonds has lent us a camera for the rest of the project, Jeff you are officially a legend!

The chest wax was really really painful, I had it done with Brendon Pongia on the TV1 Good Morning show and got interviewed just before. You can watch the interview here. Amelia a teen from Discovery joined me in the studio, go Amelia you were a rock star! We got a really great chance to talk about Discovery and for those of you who missed it we will get it loaded up here when we get back.

Off to be the winch dummy for the Lifeflight Westpac Helicopter tomorrow, forecast for Wellington tomorrow, windy! Tomorrow is special for me as my father had a very bad accident a few years ago and if it wasn't for the rescue helicopter he wouldn't be alive today.

Wellington is heaps of fun, I'm feeling really amped and excited about life, I'm becoming heaps more confident being on TV now which has been an added surprise, however will be beneficial when 30 Fears is on Campbell Live tomorrow night at 7pm.

Bye for now, keep all the cool comments coming , you are all awesome, and please go work on YOUR lists
